School Evacuation and Fire Fighting Equipment Course
The course is aimed at teaching and support staff who have a responsibility for ensuring the safe evacuation of pupils, visitors and contractors from the premises in the event of a fire. The course covers combustion theory; schools fire evacuation procedures etc. and also provides instruction on the use of fire fighting equipment.
There is a practical element to the course which is a 'Hands-On' session utilising fire simulators. Staff can be presented with a variety of fires e.g. small tray spill fire, waste bin fire, chip pan fire, or TV monitor/computer screen fire.

- Fire-fighting equipment
- Practical use of fire extinguishers
Course Duration: One & a half hours.
Personnel attending this course are advised that for the practical use of extinguishers they should wear suitable outdoor clothing if the weather is inclement.
